induction

11/9/17
The main goal of  my induction project is to produce a self portrait on Photoshop.
today i learnt techniques on how to draw faces, i also drew a portrait of a peer
This image contains my first attempts to scaling and drawing faces, i would follow the steps then  choose a final design for me to redraw in full scale later on.

This was my first attempt at drawing faces at an angle, the characters displayed have their faces looking away into different directions.

This was my attempt of a portrait of a fellow peer, i used the techniques i learnt from earlier in the day to scale up the face to the right proportions.

This is my final design which i had developed from a portrait i did earlier, in this design i drew it bigger and i added a body and some more detailing.

Today i learnt how to use certain techniques in which allow me to scale and use the right proportions when drawing portraits, this will be useful for when i make my self portrait on photoshop.

Today i took part in a trip to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery to see the 'i want, i want Art and technology' exhibition, during my visit there i took note of a few pieces of artwork in which i liked either the concept or look of, below are a few photos of my favourite pieces. my favourite pieces during the visit was : Girl in Two Halves by Clare Strand, i liked her work most because of the tone of it and how it was brought out by the lack of colour and how unique it was compared to the other exhibits.

This morning i created a drawing of photoshop of a characters head, i used this drawing to practice and hone my skills with the use of blending colours. i was influenced by the artist sinix as i used his technique of blending colours in my work. my work reminds me of the design of a pop vinyl figure as it has large black, bland eyes. using the technique i learnt today i was able to improve my drawing in such ways to show that tone is used and make it look like a shadow has formed across the characters face. i could have used this technique more effectively if i had changed and used more colours in my work, as it would make it look like there was more of a difference in the light and dark on the characters face. todays work is different to last sessions work as last session i learnt how to draw proportions, whereas this session i learnt how to blend on photoshop. lastly, one thing i would do different if id did this work again would be to use a different range of colours for blending on the face.
This is the drawing i made on photoshop in todays session, it shows examples of blending techniques i have learnt.

I then learnt and attempted to try blending using darker tones for the skin colour of african individuals.

i then returned to my first piece to add in more essential parts to lift up certain features of the face, the activities purpose was to attempt to draw out certain tones on a characters face, after i was happy with the tones on my characters face, i began to draw out the eyes, which began to turn my drawing unrealistic, if i were to draw this again i would change how i did the eyes.

Today i started my portrait of myself, i am happy with my start so far.i used photoshop to start drawing my portrait, i believe my work in this session has evolved from last sessions work, as i believe my techniques have improved.

This is the start of my portrait during todays session, i have began to free hand draw the outline.

20/9/17
In todays session i continued my portrait, today i focused on my eye and i began to use colour and use my previous techniques with tones to  attempt to make the eye look as realistic as i could get it.

22/9/17
this session i finished the twelfth hour of my portrait, i used adobe Photoshop to create this piece, i used the technique of blending to try to match my skin tones, i could have done this more effectively where the bounce light takes place such as on the forehead/ cheeks. if i were to do a portrait of myself again, i would make sure to draw out the right proportions and i would try to make my face look partly symmetrical, after creating my portrait i feel confident with the software i used and i also feel confident with my tones.
