Challenge four - get inspired
i have two massive creative inspirations to me, the first one is the Harry Potter books, the Harry Potter books are such an inspiration to me because they paint such a vivid picture mentally. the authors descriptions of the different locations, characters and events can be so emotional during reading the series and the mental picture can affect the reader to the point it can inspire how they think and create certain things. Their key features are things such as the massive following they have acquired and some of the messages they convey, such as sacrifice for the greater good, love is a powerful force and that doing good for the greater good for the world rather than for yourself is the best thing a person could do. The Harry Potter series is such an inspiration to me because of how well it is wrote, the fact that it started as an unhopeful project is very inspiring because of how well it has done over the years, how it had 8 movies created from it, two spin offs and a sequel play. The themes displayed within the harry potter books are an inspiration in a way too as quite alot of the themes are to do with fantasy and the way they have been created is very important as they could be implemented within my work as the games industry takes alot of its inspiration from history, something which can be linked with harry potter is the mystical version of history. I could use harry potter as an inspiration for my work next year as it can be very descriptive and most people who read fantasy based books such as Harry Potter find that they imagine there own version of what is descriptive within the books, this is good as i can link this with how i can draw, if i were to draw a beast like a phoenix or a centaur i would draw it from my own imagination taking elements from harry potter from what i have read. it could also be introduced into my work next year as i could create a few concept pieces for designs.
The other thing in which inspires me is a duo of artists which go by the collective name of $uicideboy$, these artists are such an influence because they overcome the stereotype their name gives them, they are both rappers and their type of rap changes the rap game. It is so different as it derives from a variety of different music genres such as metal and bass boosted house, original rap which derives from lil wayne and gangster rappers, $uicideboy$ revolutionised the rap game to their own way, they do everything in their own way, they have grown such a cult following that they were able to launch their own clothing line from named after their own song. They are also very inspiring because both members are family related and they have both come from nothing, struck down and born into poverty in New Orleans, they grey up in an area which was heavily populated with gangs and one of them was even a drug dealer for a short period of time, while they both still do drugs they have become straight with the law and have become better people from their music to the point where their music and the fans has saved their life in many ways. Their key features are that they create such an indescribable type of music and how they steer away from certain stereotypes. I could use this as an inspiration for my work as music can be reflected within art whether its a different art style of how the emotion and feeling of the music can style the art in a way that can change the colour pallet or how things are shaped or formed.

Personal statement draft -
In the past i have had work experience within the games industry, as my dream is to become a 3D modeller working on assets and objects within games i decided for my work experience i would work as a sales assistant for the company 'Game'. I had a placement for 48 hours and i learnt the ropes of the typical role of a sales assistant and i also learnt the other side of the games industry and how it worked, my dream job would be a 3D modeller but i thought it would be essential to learn about the other side of the games industry. I have took part in a few competitions which are based around painting and the painting of figures, i took part in a competition for underage figure painting of games workshop figures and i received 3rd place, i have also took part in a few games workshop in shop contests and gained first place. i have worked on a live brief during my first year of college, i have also worked on a few personal projects to advance my 3D modelling skills. I have achieved quite a lot whether it is my grades within graphic design or my grades in art, i have quite an artistic background. i would love to study this subject as i have had an interest in it for a long time, i have always had the dream of being an architect which naturally led onto my dream job of being a 3D modeller, i have also always had a fascination with whats behind the games and how they are created. i feed my interest into 3D modelling by doing my own small projects where i model certain objects or things i have an interest in such as creating my own harry potter wands. Games wise i enjoy a variety of different games such as the Fallout series, the Grand Theft Auto Series, The Elder Scrolls Series and games such Fortnite too, i have a wide interest within the games industry as well as many other genres. i am dying to study environment modelling more, the whole process of creating assets to make a whole environment, then piecing it together to make a whole scene interests me. The aspect that most interests me within the course is the 2d side the development of painting as this side of game design is the side in which i need more development in, i feel like studying the 2d side as well as the 3d side would be very advantageous as i could develop both sides. I admire a certain amount of artists such as jack kirby- a comic book artist for his work with creating iconic characters and art styles. My projected career route would be to work up the ranks from a graduate-junior artist to a senior artist or lead artist. I can visualise in the future, after completing this course that i will take on my dream job and achieve my lifes goal this relates to the course as the course could help develop my skills within 2d painting and 3d modelling. i would love to take part in this course and become apart of the student circle, putting all my effort into the course so i could get the most out of it as a learning experience and so i have a chance at my dream job and my lifes ambition.
